How much longer can I keep having smoothies for breakfast until I cave in?
First week of winter isn’t too bad in Auckland but I’m heading back to New Plymouth for work this weekend (teaching at the Naturopathic College of NZ). I’m going to attempt to continue my smoothie ritual every morning in NP, wish me luck!
Try this decadent yet refreshing recipe…
Paleo, plus dairy, egg, soy, gluten, wheat and refined sugar free, optional vegan
Serves 2
Ingredients:
- 2 frozen bananas (peeled before freezing)
- 250g frozen raspberries
- 2 serves chocolate flavoured protein powder
- 2 serves collagen powder – omit if vegan
- 2 tablespoons smooth peanut butter (or almond butter)
- 2 tablespoons hemp seeds (optional)
- 2 tablespoons coconut oil
- 1 tablespoon cacao powder
- 2 teaspoons molasses
- 1 tablespoon ground flaxseed
- Sprinkle of cinnamon
- Just enough almond/coconut milk to blend
- Sprinkle of cacao powder to serve
Method:
- Blend all ingredients in a blender except the second cacao powder
- Top with cacao powder (if you’re a chocoholic) and serve, enjoy!
